About The Bureau--
Credit Bureau & Financial Services, was founded in 1954. The Credit Bureau of Friona was purchased by Mike and Anna Solomon in 2002. All local records are on computer files. Audrey Hernandez is the company's manager. Mike Solomon is also a certified consumer interviewer.
The bureau offers national credit reports from Experian (TRW). With direct computer connections, reports are received within seconds. The monthly and semi-monthly public records bulletins includes wedding licenses, utilities connections, and disconnections, divorce petitions, suits filed, tax liens, judgments, and many other items of public information. Local files are updated on a daily basis.
The dishonored check collection service was formed in 1987 and is operated by the Credit Bureau & Financial Service. The firm makes weekly remittance on collections with a complete report on checks paid and the status of those outstanding. Your bank notifies you of checks dishonored and you receive full face value on checks collected.
How Does It Work? --
After completing a short and simple form, your bank will forward dishonored checks to Valu-Check and mail you the normal notification. On average we collect 80 percent of dishonored checks. If we are unable to collect using our normal procedures, we complete everything for presentation to the District Attorney and we even do the filing for you. The firm is bonded in the State of Texas. Notary service is also available.
What Does It Cost?--
--Valu-Check members pay NO fees, sign-up charges or dues. You will receive the full face value on checks collected. If your bank charges you a returned check fee, we will also pay you that amount. The check writer pays us a bad check collection fee.
--The Credit Bureau publishes bulletins for Deaf Smith County, Castro County and Parmer County, and has monthly dues depending on the number of bulletins received. You can subscribe to one or more bulletins. National reports on individuals are $5.95 each or $7. 04 if you want a score. We also will run collections on bad debts. On bad debts we remit 60 percent of collections.
--Call or fax us and we will have the simple agreements available for you to sign. You may have a large investment in handling credit accounts...protect yourself with membership to the bureaus. And Valu-Check frees you from the hassle, problems and possible legal action in attempting to do bad check collections yourself. You are not required to join both services, just select what is best for you.
